What You’ll Do as a Pallet Jack Operator
As a Pallet Jack Operator at Lamill Coffee’s North Hills warehouse, you’ll play a crucial role in our daily operations. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the efficient movement of products within our warehouse, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality coffee to our customers. Your Daily Tasks as a Pallet Jack Operator
Operating Pallet Jacks
Your day will primarily involve operating both manual and electric pallet jacks to transport pallets, products, and materials across our expansive warehouse. Whether you’re moving coffee beans, packaging materials, or finished products, your role is to keep things moving smoothly and efficiently.
Loading and Unloading
You’ll also be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of goods onto trucks, trailers, and designated storage areas. This requires attention to detail to ensure that all pallets are stacked securely to prevent any damage or hazards.
Staging and Inventory Management
Part of your duties will include staging materials for shipment, working closely with warehouse workflows and schedules to ensure timely dispatches. You’ll collaborate with the inventory team to track and replenish stock in picking and packing areas, maintaining seamless operations.
Equipment and Workspace Maintenance
Conducting routine inspections of pallet jacks to ensure they are in perfect working condition and reporting any malfunctions is vital. Additionally, keeping the loading docks, storage areas, and workspaces organized and clean is part of maintaining our high standards.
Safety and Collaboration
Following established safety guidelines and consistently wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. You’ll work closely with other team members and supervisors, coordinating efforts to maintain safety and efficiency.
What You Need to Be a Pallet Jack Operator
Qualifications and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with familiarity in operating pallet jacks within a warehouse setting. Ideally, you have at least 1+ years of experience in the field as a Pallet Jack Operator.
Essential Skills
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and withstand long periods of standing.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate material handling and inventory tracking.
- Basic communication skills for effective teamwork and coordination.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
Preferred Experience
While prior material handling or warehousing experience is preferred, it’s not mandatory. We value hands-on abilities and a willingness to learn.
